Hello, students!

The First-Year Experience (FYE) Office is excited to support our newest community members: first-year and new transfer students. Our primary goal is to ensure your transition to campus life is as smooth and successful as possible. We’re currently seeking your feedback on New Student Orientation (NSO) to help us continuously improve our programming (please see your email for a brief survey). You can also connect with our amazing New Student Peer Mentors (NSPMs), who are here to offer guidance, check in with you, and host events to help you build your community.

Now, to help you get connected, we’re challenging you to take a step outside your comfort zone with the First Six Weeks Bingo Challenge! Each square on the Bingo card represents a specific activity designed to help you branch out, meet new people, and discover new resources. Be one of the first 25 to finish any row and win a small prize. For EVERY Bingo row you complete, we will enter your name into a raffle for bigger prizes like wireless headphones, a portable speaker, a mini projector, a $50 gift card, and more! 12 prize winners will be drawn and notified on October 24. But this isn’t just about winning prizes; it’s a way to actively get involved and explore different areas on campus you might not otherwise experience. Are you up for the challenge? Check your email for the invite and all the details we sent on September 10!

Finally, did you know the FYE Office is more than just a place to get support? We have a welcoming and comfortable space in Fowler 110 that we share with the incredible Office of Health Promotion & Wellness. The space is open to all students, so come hang out, relax, study, or just take a break between classes. We hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Jonathan Manz, Interim Assistant Dean of Students and Director of First-Year Experience
