Erika More Named Assistant Dean, Title IX and Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator
The Office of Equity and Inclusion is excited to welcome Erika to the team.
Erika More has joined Lewis & Clark as the new assistant dean and Title IX and civil rights compliance coordinator. She replaces Lori Makin-Byrd, who served as Title IX coordinator since 2022.
“I am so excited to welcome Erika to campus,” said Associate Dean of the Graduate School and Community Dialogues Director Danielle Torres, who is serving as the dean of Equity and Inclusion until January 2026. “Erika’s expert knowledge in student engagement, prevention programming and strong community engagement skills made her a top choice for this newly-created position.”
Most recently, More served as director of education and prevention at the University of Texas at Austin overseeing the coordination, management, and implementation of the university’s comprehensive education and training programs on interpersonal violence.
More earned an MA in legal doctrine and analysis from Michigan State University College of Law, a second MA in higher education administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a BA from Oregon State University.
Originally from Oregon, she brings strong collaborative skills and experience in leading student supports and compliance initiatives. This marks a transition from a remote-based to an on-campus Title IX Coordinator for our community. Her position is college wide–serving all three campuses–and began on October 1.
Prior to her time at the University of Texas at Austin, More held multiple education and advocacy roles throughout Oregon including volunteer coordinator for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Linn County, and community educator at the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence.
“The search committee, made up of campus-wide representatives, did an excellent job of selecting a candidate to meet the needs of our community at this moment,” Torres said. “Joining the campus community marks a homecoming for Erika who is originally from Oregon. This familiarity is another strength she brings to the role. I also want to thank Lori for the policy expertise, collaborative spirit, and excellent communications skills that have made her an especially effective member of the team these last three years. We have appreciated all she has contributed to the institution and to our office.”
Equity and Inclusion is located in room 116-117 of McAfee on the undergraduate Campus.
