Athletics and the River Otters
Guest Columnist: Seth Orensky, Director of Athletic Communications
Hello Students,
There’s a lot of exciting things going on in Lewis & Clark Athletics! The biggest topic right now is the mascot. All of our fall teams are going to finish off their seasons as the Pioneers for the final time. Our winter teams will be adopting the River Otters nickname for their seasons. Starting in 2026, all of our Lewis & Clark varsity athletics teams will be represented by the River Otters. Have some fun ideas for cheers or slogans - send me an email (orenskys@lclark.edu). Do you want to cheer on the River Otters for our first-ever games as River Otters? Check out the list below for our home openers for men’s and women’s swimming and basketball.
All of our Fall teams are in action through the second week in November and as students you get into all the games for free. The football team is off to their best start since 2012 and will host Whitworth University on Homecoming on Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m. The volleyball team plays Pacific University that night at 7 p.m. There are also three more opportunities to check out men’s and women’s soccer. The soccer teams host Willamette University on Sunday, November 9 for Senior Day (11 a.m./1:45 p.m.). To find the full athletics schedule or learn about any of our teams check out LCPioneers.com.
