When We Slept in Trees is a devised dance/theatre piece devised by the company and led by faculty members Rebecca Lingafelter (director) and Tiffany Mills (movement director), along with designers Jenny Ampersand (costume) and Miranda Hardy (set and lights). There are five thesis seniors already cast in the show along with two student designers and we are hoping to cast an additional 4-6 students to serve as a chorus and movement ensemble. The source material is rooted in the relationship between human beings and the natural world and draws from numerous sources including poetry, movement, music, storytelling and visual art.
The audition will be focused mostly on movement and auditioners, but everyone will also have a chance to speak a little text.
We are hoping to cast actors who move and movers who act, so it’s really open to anyone in the department. Join us!
What to prepare:
- come ready to move and create.
- prepare a 1 minutes story about the desire to fly (it can be a real story or one you make up).
Sign up on the call board at Fir Acres Theatre and contact theatre@lclark.edu with any questions.
Come audition- all are welcome!
