Once Upon a Weekend- Spring 2026

Once Upon a Weekend is an opportunity for students to write, develop, and produce a short play/sketch/scene based on a theme. The catch is that they do this all within ONE WEEK!

This year’s theme will be announced the week before Once Upon a Weekend.

How it Works:

• Monday: A theme is posted on the lobby bulletin board of Fir Acres Theatre. Anyone and everyone may write a short (10 minute max) play/ sketch/ scene based on the theme
• Wednesday at 6pm: Deadline to submit your play for Once Upon a Weekend- submit your play here!
• Friday, February 20 at 5:30pm: Auditions on the Fir Acres Theatre Main Stage. Directors and actors will meet and divide into teams to stage the winning plays. No Rehearsals until Saturday. 
• Saturday, February 21: One to two hours of rehearsal time only. Then it’s performance time! 
• Showtime: Saturday, February 21 at 8pm in the Fir Acres Blackbox!
