Dear L&C Students, greetings to you all from the International Students & Scholars (ISS) Office!
I’m writing to invite you to one of the biggest international events on our campus. The International Students of Lewis & Clark’s (ISLC) 61st Annual International Fair takes place in Fowler Student Center and the Agnes Flanagan Chapel on Saturday March 7! Come and sample konjuk, osenbei, and dulce leche, then check out a Southeast Asian Tinikling, Mexican Mariachi, and of course Indian Bollywood dancing! We’ll have some great raffle prizes to win as well.
The international fair is a great way to start getting to know some of the 150 international students and 124 Third Culture Kids enrolled at L&C this spring, but don’t stop there. They represent 73 countries, bringing to campus a lot to learn, befriend, and celebrate.
Our ISS team works hard to make our campus a home-away-from-home for these students in many ways (easier said than done these days…). Domestic students can help with that every day in your classes, clubs, teams, and residence halls. Be curious and don’t feel shy about joining in!
Take care and all for now.
Brian White, Associate Dean and Director of International Students & Scholars
