Lewis & Clark’s summer courses are six-week long intensives, and run in two sessions:
We asked students why they took summer classes, and these reasons came up again and again:
- Summer classes are short and intensive—only six weeks—letting me complete the credit hours I need in a very short time.
- I wanted to complete my language requirement.
- Summer classes are discounted 30% from normal tuition rates!
- I was able to get into a science, gen ed, or major required course in the summer that I had been waitlisted for during the year.
- I’m switching majors into science, and needed to catch up with my Chem or Bio sequence.
- I wanted to be in Portland in the summer, and taking classes at the same time made sense!
- I wanted to take advantage of the liberal arts experience and L&C, and take classes outside my major. There are so many fun offerings in the summer that I don’t have time for during the year.
- I missed credits in past years, and wanted the chance to catch up!
