Tree Removal Work during Spring Break Mar 23-25

There are CAS campus trees that have critical defects defined by arborists.

March 23, 2026

The City agreed with the arborist’s feedback and has issued permits for Lewis & Clark to remove the defected trees.

The contractor is Citywide Tree Service, and they will be arriving with tree climbers and big chipper trucks to begin work starting Monday, March 23. We have encouraged the contractor to move as safely and swiftly as possible to minimize risk and complete the work during spring break to avoid disruption.

As always, tree removal can be noisy, with ground controls and some access challenges in the area. Everyone should be able to navigate campus safely, but a flagger may ask you to wait a moment as delimbing is performed.

The impacted areas and scheduled dates are noted below:

Numerous truck loads of debris are scheduled to be removed from the area between Cobblestone Circle and Manor House. This involves a loader repeatedly traversing from the debris area into the Cobblestone Circle, which could have occasional impacts on foot traffic coming on/off the covered bridge.
