It’s a great time to check in on your sexual health. STI testing is quick, easy, and an important part of taking care of yourself.
As of this school year, the Student Health Center’s lab provider, Quest, can bill insurance directly, which means testing is free for most students year-round, aside from our $25 lab handling fee. For the month of April, the Student Health Center will waive our $25 lab handling fee for all STI screening tests.
Testing will be billed to your insurance as usual. The Affordable Care Act requires most insurance plans to cover STI testing as preventive care at no cost to you.
So, who should get tested? Anyone who is sexually active should get tested regularly. It’s especially important if you’ve had new partners, multiple partners, or haven’t been tested in a while. Many STIs don’t have symptoms, so testing is the safest way to protect your health.
You can schedule an appointment online, call 503-768-7165, or stop by the clinic to make an appointment. Testing at the Student Health Center is quick and confidential.
