Meeting your priority loan processing deadline is recommended for the earliest possible disbursement, but we will continue to accept loan requests after the deadline has passed.

Loan Processing Steps

When you complete a counseling or MPN requirement, the checklist in Self-Service > Financial Aid will usually be updated the next business day. We will also receive your Grad PLUS Loan* Application in our system the business day after you submit it; however, your checklist will not be updated to show that this step is complete until your PLUS Loan* has actually been originated, and that will take more time.

* Important Note:

Effective July 1, 2026, the Grad PLUS Loan program is being eliminated. Exceptions apply for current students who receive a Federal Direct Loan disbursement prior to 7/1/26, as well as new students who start their L&C graduate/law program before 7/1/26 and receive a Federal Direct Loan disbursement for that program prior to 7/1/26. To ensure on-time disbursement, please complete the loan processing steps early. Private Loans are an alternative option.

Monitoring Your Loan Status

After you complete all required steps, allow 10–15 business days for your loan request to be processed.

You can monitor loan status in Self-Service > Financial Aid > My Awards. Click “View loan” to expand the loan section and then check the Status column. Upon submission, loan requests will either be marked as “In Review” (if you accepted a partial amount) or “Student Accepted” (if you accepted the full amount). When loan origination is complete, the status will change to “Accepted.”
