CORE 121 Students Tackle Campus Transportation Issues

How could transportation at Lewis & Clark College be improved? Students in “Take Charge! Tackling Environmental Problems” grappled with this problem in two sections of the College’s first-year seminar during Spring, 2026. Students were in charge of the entire process of finding solutions in the face of diverse and at times conflicting stakeholder interests and constraints. Their investigations included a local transportation-oriented field trip to experience opportunities and barriers first-hand.
Check out the website “Take Charge!” students’ developed detailing their solutions! They will also present their proposals to a panel of experts on April 22, 2026, 6:30-8:30 pm in Council Chambers. All are welcome!
Environmental Studies is located in room 104 of Albany Quadrangle on the Undergraduate Campus.
