CORE 121 Students Tackle Campus Transportation Issues

How could transportation at Lewis & Clark College be improved? Students in “Take Charge! Tackling Environmental Problems” grappled with this problem in two sections of the College’s first-year seminar during Spring, 2026. Students were in charge of the entire process of finding solutions in the face of diverse and at times conflicting stakeholder interests and constraints. Their investigations included a local transportation-oriented field trip to experience opportunities and barriers first-hand.

Attend the Tualatin Watershed Science Symposium!

Join us at the Tualatin Watershed Science Symposium: Headwaters to Confluence on May 2, 2026, at PCC Rock Creek.

Hosted by Tualatin Riverkeepers, this half-day event will bring together researchers, restoration practitioners, community scientists, and volunteers to share projects happening across the Tualatin River watershed—from Gaston to its confluence with the Willamette River in West Linn. Attendees will hear about wildlife monitoring, community science, and restoration efforts, and can join a guided nature walk through PCC’s restored wetlands and forests.

This year’s ENVX Symposium, Common Ground: How We Can Engage Across Difference With a Shared Love of Land, was held September 29 through October 3. The symposium united panelists and students in dialogue founded upon months of community conversation and outreach.
