2026-27 Heritage & History Month Planning Committees

Join the Office of Inclusion & Multicultural Engagement (IME) as we get ready to celebrate a year of culture, knowledge, and community.

IME is seeking students, staff, and faculty to join our Heritage and History Month Planning Committees. All are welcome to participate! 

Please let us know if you’d be interested in joining by completing this interest form.

Time commitment: 6-8 weeks prior to the heritage/history month, an IME staff member will reach out and lead committee meetings with hopes to properly prepare and plan for the month of celebration.

Timeframe:

  • Sept/Oct: Hispanic-Latine Heritage Month - planning starts summer via Zoom
  • Oct: LGBTQ+ History Month - planning starts first week of September
  • Nov: Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month - planning begins around October
  • Jan/Feb: Black History Month - planning begins around November
  • March: Womxn’s History Month & Mixed Race Heritage Month - planning begins around January
  • April/May: Asian Diaspora Pacific Islander Heritage Month - planning begins around February

Why get involved? Honor your heritage, learn more about a heritage (could be yours or another), give back, create awesome events, meet awesome people, have your voice be heard, and gain work experience!

Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement is located in room 324 of Fowler Student Center on the Undergraduate Campus.
