Class of 2024
San Diego, CA

Cloe Moreno grew up in San Diego, CA and moved to Portland, OR in the fall of 2020 to attend Lewis & Clark College. There she ran Cross Country and Track & Field while pursuing a degree in Psychology, and along the way picked up minors in Art and Health Studies. She was a Teaching Assistant for several Psychology classes and also participated in the Student Alumni Association (SAA), helping host and run events for students and alumni to come together. In addition, she also participated on the Student Academic Affairs Board (SAAB) Grants as the Historian, taking notes and making fiscal decisions regarding students’ grant proposals. During the summer of her Junior year, she worked closely with Psychology professor, Jolina Ruckert, to publish a paper that focused on children’s connection with nature and how important that bond is. The research bug did not stop there, and in her senior year she interned at a lab at Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) and was a contributing author on a paper that sought to uncover more details between Dopamine and addiction.

Cloe is the illustrator and an art contributor for the This Teenage Life Podcast, which she helped to launch back in high school. It currently has a world-wide listener base and a diverse array of story contributors. Cloe is also a full time Administrative Specialist (AS1) at Vocational Rehabilitation, which is part of Oregon’s State Department of Human Services, where she works alongside counselors to help individuals with disabilities find employment. In the evenings she sometimes leads climbing meetups for a nonprofit called Ladies Climbing Coalition.
