Summary:

“Classroom 4,” a 39-minute documentary streaming on PBS, traces a semester-long course in which people incarcerated at Columbia River Correctional Institution learn side by side with Lewis & Clark undergraduates. Taught by L&C History Professor Reiko Hillyer, the class transforms both “inside” and “outside” students, along with viewers of the documentary. The film was recently shortlisted for an Oscar.
