Bio

Hi! My name’s Ahnalya (pronounced ah-nall-yah), and I’m a wholeheartedly interdisciplinary person interested in the intersection between media, design psychology, and public policy. Growing up in Portland, I formed a deep love of skateboarding downtown, hiking Mt. Hood to snowboard, volunteering at my local library, and visiting beaches to rockhound. I love concerts and collecting vinyl, reading speculative fiction & media theory, hanging out with friends & my cat, and working with over two dozen art mediums. I thrive off of a full schedule and am currently an RA, writer for the LC newsroom, RHMS office assistant, admissions fellow, and small business owner. Above all, I’m proud to be a first-generation college student & alum of a K-12 online school. I want to personally thank my parents, who I know will be reading this: I couldn’t have created this wonderful life without you, and I’m so proud to bring you on this journey with me. You were beside me the evening I committed to LC - when the Northern Lights were visible here in Oregon - and every day since has been equally magical.
