Rafe McCullough

Dr. McCullough’s teaching and scholarship interests center on advocacy, multicultural and social justice, LGBTQ and especially transgender concerns in counseling. Prior to coming to Lewis & Clark, he served as a professional school counselor and as a clinical mental health counselor. His training has also allowed him the opportunity to supervise, teach, and support many students in school counseling, clinical mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling, and school psychology programs. Dr. McCullough has been active in many ACA divisions, including as a member of the Multicultural Competency Revision Committee for the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD) in 2015-2016, and as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for The Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in Counseling (ALGBTIC) in 2016. He currently serves on the ACA Cultural Encounters Task Force. Dr. McCullough is one of the authors of the new Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies. He was recently awarded the American Counseling Association (ACA) Courtland C. Lee Multicultural Excellence Scholarship Award, and was recognized by the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) as an Emerging Leader.
