Estate Planning

Description: This seminar will seek to apply the knowledge acquired in the prerequisite courses in a planning context. Students will analyze and discuss various estate planning tools and techniques, and their application in different situations.

Non-tax considerations will be covered as well as gift, estate and income tax consequences.

Students will be evaluated on the basis of classroom participation and two papers that can qualify for the WIE writing requirement.

Prerequisite: Income Tax I, Estate and Gift Taxation and Wills & Trusts, or written consent from the instructor.
