Amanda (Mandy) Rude, a 2014 graduate from Lewis & Clark with an environmental law certificate, has just been hired into her “dream job” as the Environmental Crime Program Specialist with the US Department of State- INL Bureau (International Narcotics and Law Enforcement). The INL environmental crime team focuses on US policy aimed at combating wildlife trafficking such as the new Executive Order issued in 2012. Mandy’s role will be a mixture of collaborative program management and policy research on wildlife and environmental crime. In addition, the team builds coalitions across US agencies, NGOs, and international bodies to develop collaborative approaches to combat wildlife crime.
