Public Interest Summer Law Stipends Announced

     The Lewis & Clark Public Interest Law Project (PILP), announced today that 19 summer stipends were awarded to law students who will be doing public interest work this coming summer.  Kelsyn Bevins, President of  PILP, said the stipends were funded through a number of PILP fund-raising efforts, including  Karaoke, Poker, and the annual Auction, which together raised $83,500.  PILP, a student-run organization in existence for over 20 years at the law school, is one of the strongest PILP organizations in the country. 

     Stipends are awarded on a competitive basis, with law students arranging a placement and making a case for the placement to the stipend committee, made of up of both students and faculty.  This year’s stipend recipients will work at the following organizations – located throughout the United States and abroad.
