Jessup Team competes in Washington DC

The Lewis & Clark Jessup International moot court team is in Washington D.C. for their first competition!

Lewis & Clark’s Jessup Moot Court team, consisting of Lauren Cullop, Dan Rowan, Stephen Schwindt, Vince Sliwoski, Joe Terrenzio and coach Professor Dagmar Butte have arrived in Washington D.C. for the regional competitions!

It appears to be going very well.  Says Joe Terrenzio, “Friday morning our first oral argument went well, we think a victory. Friday afternoon our second oral argument was a definitive victory.”

The team is arguing the Case of the Windscale Islands.  Loosely based upon the Falkland Islands, the hypothetical involves questions of sovereignty and the right to self-determination.  The Compromis (facts of the case) can be accessed at the International Law Students Association’s web site.

Good luck to the Jessup team!
