Law School Hosts the 35th Annual Environmental Distinguished Visitor Event and Lecture on 9/20

Professor Emerita Helen Kang of Golden Gate University Law School is the Lewis & Clark Law featured speaker at the 35th Distinguished Visitor Lecture.

On Sept. 20, 2023, Lewis & Clark Law School hosts the 35th Annual Environmental Distinguished Visitor Event and Lecture, featuring Professor Emerita Helen Kang as this year’s Distinguished Visitor. The event, sponsored by the Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law Program, also recognizes Distinguished Graduates and the 2023 Williamson Award Recipient.

Professor Kang presents her lecture entitled Bearing Witness to Environmental Injustice: The Path Forward. She is recently retired from Golden Gate University School of Law, where she served as the Director of the Environmental Law and Justice Clinic and specialized in environmental law, environmental justice, legal education in Korea, and citizen enforcement of environmental laws. In addition to her acclaimed scholarship, including publication in some of the highest ranked law reviews in the nation, Professor Kang is also the 2020 recipient of the Svitlana Kravchenko Environmental Rights Award.

In addition to the Distinguished Visitor Lecture, the law school will recognize Mark Riskedahl ’00, Leah Feldon ’04, Gregory Adams ’06, and Prakash Sharma ‘LLM 99 as Distinguished Graduates, and Casey Bage ’23 as the 2023 Williamson Award Recipient.
