A Teacher Affects Eternity

Jim Oleske is this year’s recipient of the the Leo Levenson Teaching Excellence Award.
“There’s nothing more rewarding as a teacher than receiving positive feedback from students, and I can’t tell you how privileged I feel to receive this honor from the Class of 2014. This was my first class at Lewis & Clark, and over the past three years, the members of this remarkable class have taught me a great deal through countless conversations, both inside and outside the classroom. Just as they have enriched life here at the law school, I know these graduates will be making enormous contributions to communities across the country throughout their careers,” said Oleske.
The graduating law class chooses the winner from all full time professors at Lewis & Clark Law School.
The award was presented by Jordan Schoonover, a Class of 2014 graduate, “I was very excited when Dean Spence asked me to present this award to Professor Oleske. His work ethic, sense of humor, and commitment to helping students succeed make him an outstanding teacher. I know that it meant a lot to him to receive this award, and it was an honor for me to present it to him.”
“A teacher affects eternity, he/she can never tell where his/her influence stops.”
