Reminder and Room Change: Generative AI and the Future of Work
Dear Faculty and Staff,
The Strategic Imperatives Advisory Council invites you to join them for a free EAB workshop regarding AI in higher education. The description of the session is:
Generative AI in Higher Ed and the Future of Work: How to Navigate Hype and Future-Proof the Academic Portfolio
As generative AI starts to reshape the future of work, how can we ensure our students are equipped with the right skills to succeed and our programs are designed to withstand these shifts? This session facilitated by EAB will go beyond the GenAI hype to explore its workforce implications, the evolving demands on academic programs, and our responsibility as an institution to lead through an AI future. We’ll discuss the ways that AI is being implemented, how it’s changing the way we think about skills, and the need for a strategic academic response.
This workshop will be facilitated by an EAB expert and will take place on Friday, April 25, 10:30 a.m. – noon. The location has been changed to Albany 218.
There is also a Zoom option available: please let Leslie Thomas (lthomas@lclark.edu) know if you would like the link.
As the SIAC finalizes its report and as we prepare to shift into the next phase of more fully defining and implementing strategic initiatives, this workshop will provide an opportunity to hear from a leading national higher education consultancy about what they’re seeing in higher education and in the workforce related to AI, and how Lewis & Clark might respond to this rapidly developing technology, opportunity, and challenge.
If you are able to attend, please RSVP here.
Thank you,
