Additional Resource in OEI

February 18, 2026

Dear L&C staff and faculty colleagues,

I am pleased to share that we have added a resource in the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) for the spring semester to provide consultation for students, staff, and faculty in resolving conflicts and navigating challenging interpersonal situations.

Mariann Hyland, JD, MSW and her team member Conchita Franco Serri, Ed.M., JD are now available as confidential resources, consistent with the College’s policies and applicable laws regarding confidentiality, to all members of the campus community. Their work will focus on facilitation, interpersonal communications, and conflict resolution. Hyland will have space on campus and will be available to meet in person or remotely to support individuals, departments, and teams as requested. Serri is available to meet remotely. They can be reached via email at ombuds@hyland-solutions.com or by phone: (503) 389-0127.

Hyland brings decades of experience leading transformation at complex nonprofit, governmental, educational, and health care organizations. Her leadership coaching and consulting is built on her experience in positions including Director of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity, Assistant Vice Provost in Academic Affairs, and Vice President of People and Culture. Serri, a mediator and practitioner of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and online dispute resolution (ODR), served as the inaugural Ombuds at Pomona College.

I appreciate your patience as we make this transition, and welcome your feedback as I consider the best way to support campus climate, inclusion, and professional development in the long-term.

Sincerely,

Robin H. Holmes-Sullivan

President
