A New Semester and a New Way to Connect to Guest Wi-Fi
It is wonderful to see classes in session again at all three schools as we kick off the spring semester. While students were away for winter break, the IT team completed a significant update to our campus Wi-Fi network. On January 5, the old Pio-Net Guest network was permanently retired and turned off in non-residental areas.
This transition marks the final step in the successful rollout of a replacement guest Wi-Fi network launched on November 4.
The new guest network provides unsecured internet access only. Students and employees should use PioNet whenever possible for WiFi internet access. If you live in the residence halls, you should connect to Resident-Guest in your room and PioNet in class.
Note: This transition only impacts guest Wi-Fi connections. Those connecting via a wired (Ethernet) connection will not be affected, and do not need to take action.
For Visitors and Guests
- If guests require wireless access to the internet, please instruct them to connect to LC Guest.
- Connection instructions and suggestions for guides to include in signs, slides or visitor guides can be found on the Guest Wi-Fi Access page on the IT website.
