Now more than ever, affinity spaces provide meaningful impact belonging on campus, particularly for Black students and other marginalized communities. Without intentional spaces for connection and support, it can be difficult to develop a sense of belonging. This article examines the research-backed benefits of affinity groups, intentionally created spaces where people with shared identities can gather. Below are some key takeaways for consideration:
