Tomorrow morning, March 10, marks the official start of Days of Giving, and the energy on campus is already building. As faculty and staff, you see the direct impact our support has on student success every single day.
We’re asking our fellow River Otters to focus on the heart of the L&C experience: our students. While you can give to any area that inspires you, we are highlighting three critical ways to support our students directly:

Student Emergency Fund: Provides immediate, life-changing support for students facing unexpected financial crises—from medical bills to housing insecurity.

International Student Friendship Fund: Ensures our students from around the globe have the resources they need to thrive and feel at home in Portland.

Student Clubs & Organizations: Support the passions that happen outside the classroom. Your gift helps students find their community.
Mark Your Calendar: Wednesday, March 11
While the giving spans three days, Wednesday, March 11 is our designated day to show our spirit on campus. We’re inviting all faculty and staff to join the festivities:

Wear Orange and Black: Rock your favorite L&C gear to show your pride in the hallways and classrooms.

Visit the Law School BBQ: Take a break and head over to the Law School for a community BBQ. It’s the perfect chance to catch up with colleagues.

Pet a Pony and De-Stress at the Graduate School: Head over to York Commons from 11 am - 1 pm to relax and de-stress, pet a pony, feed her some carrots, and take a pic!

Show up for Student Orgs on the Undergrad Campus: Swing by J.R. Howard to see our students in action. Student organizations will be tabling all day to share their work and raise funds for their specific projects.
What’s At Stake?
We have a big milestone to hit over the next three days! If 300 faculty and staff members make a gift, every single faculty and staff member will be entered to win:
- A private Cooley House Pool Party for you and your family and friends.
- A six-pack of wine from alumni-owned A-Z Winery.
- One of two legendary baskets of baked goods from the Law School crew.
