We are excited to announce that the National Animal Law Competitions are headed to the sunshine for 2012!  This year we are happy to be teaming up with the UCLA School of Law as they play host to the 9th annual event. Read UCLA Animal Law Program’s announcement.  

The National Animal Law Competitions (NALC) are an inter-law school competition presented by the Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark, in collaboration with the Animal Legal Defense Fund.  NALC provides law students from across the United States an opportunity to develop knowledge in the field of animal law while honing their written and oral advocacy skills.  The event is comprised of three separate competitions:

• Legislative Drafting & Lobbying Competition;
• Closing Argument Competition; and
• Appellate Moot Court Competition.

Once again this year, over seventy law student competitors will represent nearly thirty of our nation’s best law schools at NALC.  We look forward to welcoming law student competitors, their coaches, and the many guest judges and volunteers that make this event possible to UCLA School of Law.

We invite the public to attend the final competition rounds taking place on UCLA School of Law campus on Sunday, February 26, 2012.  We also invite you stay for the NALC Awards Ceremony to follow.  More details about the final competition rounds will be posted at a later date.
