Oregon Humane Society seeks law student intern
The Oregon Humane Society (OHS) seeks a second or third-year law student to serve as a part-time intern during the Spring of 2012. This student will be given the opportunity to learn more about animal law and the inner workings of OHS by: reviewing cruelty complaints; communicating with animal welfare investigators and prosecutors; researching a wide range of legal issues; and assisting with the drafting of documents associated with pending cases.
Although this is an unpaid internship, a Lewis & Clark law student would be eligible for the Pro Bono Honors Award, which requires 30 or more hours of volunteer service. In the alternative, the student could choose to complete the volunteer work and earn Independent Research credits by writing an academic paper (under the supervision of a faculty member) based on their work at OHS.
