For the seventh time in 17 years and the third year in a row, Lewis & Clark's National Environmental Moot Court team swept to the national championship at the  Pace National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.  Law students Ben Luckett, Lizzy Zultoski, and John Krallman triumphed over 83 other teams to win the National Environmental Moot Court Championship on February 20, 2010.

This marks the third year in a row that Lewis & Clark has won this competition, and the seventh time in the last 17 years.  As a measure of the difficulty of this achievement, only one other law school has won twice.  A 2009 report, including a video interview with long-time coach Craig Johnston, gives more information about the competition and Lewis & Clark’s record.

Team member Lizzy Zultoski is now a two-time national champion at this competition.  She is only the third Pace advocate to qualify for this honor in the competition’s 22-year history.  She joins alumni Nancy Perry and Jenifer Johnston in that elite group.

Here's a brief snapshot of Lewis & Clark's accomplishments in the national competition. Over the past 17 years, Lewis & Clark teams have:

* Advanced to the quarterfinals (top 27 teams) 16 times

* Advanced to the semifinals (top 9 teams) 14 times

* Advanced to the finals (top 3 teams) 11 times

* Won seven national championships
