Why I decided to go to Law School: When I filed my first US Patent, I became fascinated with the art of patent prosecution. I was captivated by the vision of the founding fathers who provided constitutional protection for Intellectual Property. Going to law school was a natural progression to my engineering education and experience.
Why I selected Lewis & Clark: After careful research, I chose Lewis and Clark law school for several reasons including: evening law program, breadth of Intellectual Property law and other classes, excellent professors who genuinely care about your success, proximity to the Portland legal community, and great reputation.
What I like about Lewis & Clark: I like the engaging class discussions, student centric academic office, and top notch professors who author numerous case books and papers. Obviously, I also like the fact that Lewis & Clark Law School is consistently rated #1 law school in the nation by US News & Report for their Environmental Law program.
Why I am focusing on Intellectual Property: My intention to join law school has lot to do with building a career in Patent Law. This field of law allows me to grow on my engineering roots.
My experience at the Law School: I took a number of classes in the field of Intellectual Property including: Intellectual Property Survey, International Intellectual Property Law, Patent Law and Policy, and Individual Research on Patent Law. I believe these classes prepared me well for my new career.
