Animal Law LLM Seminar II
Animal Law LLM Seminar II - Professor Raj Reddy
- Course Number: LAW-606
- Course Type: N/A
- Credits: 1
- Enrollment Limit: Determined by the Registrar
- Description: This seminar is a two-semester requirement for all Animal Law LLM students. The requirements for the course are flexible by design, allowing students to tailor the seminar to fit their career goals. To this end, students must propose and receive approval for an LLM thesis project; for many, the LLM thesis project takes the form of a law review paper on an animal law topic. However, students have also opted to create animal nonprofit organizations, author model animal law legislation for their home jurisdictions, construct animal law curricula, design webinar series, and more. During the fall term, faculty and guests may lead discussions on animal law topics of interest to the group, such as new case law, emerging trends, current events, and policy. During the spring term, students develop their LLM project in consultation with the professor and present their work to the Animal Law Program, and beyond. Students are graded based on participation, their LLM project and presentation, and any additional requirements as listed in the course syllabus.
- Prerequisite: none
- Evaluation Method: Class participation, presentation, short assignments, final paper
- Capstone: N/A
- WIE: N/A

The American Bar Association accreditation standards require students to regularly attend the courses in which they are registered. Lewis & Clark expects students to attend classes regularly and to prepare for classes conscientiously. Specific attendance requirements may vary from course to course. Any attendance guidelines for a given class must be provided to students in a syllabus or other written document at the start of the semester. Sanctions (e.g., required withdrawal from the course, grade adjustment, and/or a failing grade) will be imposed for poor attendance.
