Professor Jim Oleske spoke with KGW News about the Supreme Court vacancy resulting from the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. In particular, Professor Oleske addressed the political dynamics that could influence whether Senate Republicans adhere to their announced plan not to consider any nominee offered by President Obama.

“On the one hand, for Republicans it plays into that theme that Republicans aren’t doing anything in Congress,” said Oleske. “On the other hand, if they were to confirm a presidential nominee, it would be dangerous for them with their base.”
