Gantenbein Society Dinner
March 31, 2016
To thank its major donors of 2015–16, the law school hosted a dinner at Renata, lauded as one of Portland’s best new restaurants.
The annual event honors the Gantenbein Society, whose members have given $5,000 or more to the law school during the fiscal year.
Gifts from Gantenbein Society members partially fund the Gantenbein Scholarships, which help defray the cost of tuition for current students. Recipients must have a record of outstanding academic performance at Lewis & Clark and have demonstrated consistently good citizenship within both the law and general communities.
Interested in becoming a member of the Gantenbein Society? Please contact Joset Grenon, assistant dean for development, at jgrenon@lclark.edu or 503-768-6901.

From the Dean
Speaking with students is one of my favorite parts of being dean. At Lewis & Clark Law School, I’ve discovered a rare and powerful combination: students who pair fierce dedication to their mission with deep collaboration and a genuine commitment to each other’s success.

Professors Chris Wold and Erica Lyman facilitated a workshop with CMS Parties to discuss the legal contours of some of the treaty’s most important provisions.

Beyond the Bar
Most graduates of law school go on to practice law, working in law firms or providing legal counsel to organizations and businesses. Yet, for some, the lessons of law apply more broadly, and the outcome of their law school education has been a surprising and successful career outside of law.
