ELC’s 2016 Mushroom Hunt was a great success! We had a great group and hunted in a number of different spots in Mt. Hood National Forest. We picked, cleaned, and prepared our own mushroom feast! It was a fun weekend with lots of good food and good times. And who doesn’t love an excuse to walk around in the woods?
Board members and several students showed up to plant trees with Friends of Trees near Portland. We planted over 100 native species near an important watershed to help with habitat growth and water filtration.
ELC’s annual Swift Watch was a success! The board and several other students headed out to Portland and claimed the best spot on the hill to watch the flock of Swifts descend into a local chimney. No pictures accompany this story because we were all too in the moment to photograph.
