World Aquatic Animal Day Explored Sustainability Myths

The annual World Aquatic Animal Day raises awareness about the plight of aquatic animals to advocate for better policies, laws, education, and outreach to protect them.

Each year on April 3, students take the lead in raising global awareness about these often-forgotten nonhuman animals for this global event, which was launched at Lewis & Clark Law School for the first time in 2020. This year’s theme was Disentangling the Sustainability Myth in Fishing and Aquaculture.


2022: Progress & Perseverance in Animal Law

The 11th annual Animal Law Symposium, hosted by the Animal Law Review, celebrated some of the accomplishments made in various fields of animal law while acknowledging the ongoing work in those fields. Experts discussed issues in wildlife conservation, animal agriculture, intersectional advocacy, and animal ethics.

The opening remarks were provided by Professor of Practice Joyce Tischler.
