Distinguished Higgins Visitor
Professor Robert Klonoff hosted “A Conversation with the Honorable D. Brooks Smith” for this year’s Higgins Distinguished Visitor. The talk included the former chief judge for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals’ career, as well as reflecting on current events, and sharing career advice for law students. 10/12/22
Women in the Law Lecture
Seventh Circuit Court Judge Amy St. Eve, in a conversation with Professor Bob Klonoff, addressed a number of topics including women in the legal profession, as well as how courts function and how trial courts differ from appellate courts. 10/27/22
Huffman Lecture
Former judge and lecturer Janice Rogers Brown presented the 2023 James L. Huffman Lecture, in Honor of the Western Resources Legal Center: “The Arc of the Covenant: Views on Constitutional Government and the Rule of Law.” She served as a U.S. circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and was an associate justice of the California Supreme Court. 3/9/23

Beyond the Bar
Most graduates of law school go on to practice law, working in law firms or providing legal counsel to organizations and businesses. Yet, for some, the lessons of law apply more broadly, and the outcome of their law school education has been a surprising and successful career outside of law.
