For the third year in a row, Lewis & Clark graduates had high rates for first time bar exam pass, at 83.5%, continuing the school’s trend of exceeding the overall state bar pass rate of 74%.
Since Lewis & Clark is the largest law school in the state and usually mirrors the statewide average, this pass rate is particularly impressive – a full 9.5% higher than the statewide average.
“I am so proud of all of our graduates for their hard work in studying for this exam,” said Dean Davis. “Their diligence will take them far in their careers.”

This year’s winning papers investigated how developing countries face inequities in expropriation for public purpose, and challenges to establishing standing in international environmental rights cases.
“Excellence and resilience in a fast-changing world” is the focus of the Law School’s strategic plan, with efforts to “future-proof” the school and ensure students’ success.
