This year, the SBLC business clinic had 28 interns and the patent clinic had four.

(L to R): SBLC student Interns West Aron ’25, Jessica Irmer ’25, Alpha Tessema ’25, and Charlie Morris ’26.This year, the SBLC business clinic had 28 interns and the patent clinic had four interns, collectively providing more than 3,000 hours of legal services to entrepreneurs in the greater Portland region and in rural areas of Oregon. The wait list for assistance constantly grows! In addition, the SBLC collaborated with legal clinics in Ukraine to teach students practical skills and expose Lewis & Clark law students to the Ukrainian legal and education systems.The SBLC involved students from National Technical University of Ukraine and Uzhhorod National University in practical legal work. The collaboration included drafting contracts and exploring tax structures. Additionally, a U.S.-Ukrainian Bankruptcy Law Discussion, featuring U.S. and Ukrainian legal experts, was held virtually, fostering international legal insights.
