Angela Aneiros brings more than a decade of teaching and trial experience and a deep passion for both the law and education to her role as Associate Professor of Law for the business law department at Lewis & Clark Law School. She specializes in the fields of business law, corporate law, commercial law, and ethics.
Prior to joining Lewis & Clark Law School, Professor Aneiros served as an Assistant Professor of Law and the Co-Director of the Center of Law, Ethics, & Commerce at Gonzaga University School of Law for the last 3years. Previous to her appointment at Gonzaga, she served as a Lecturer of Business Law & Ethics at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and supervising attorney at Indiana University Student Legal Services, a clinical program for IU Maurer School of Law students, representing and advising Indiana University Bloomington students. Anerios also served as a trial attorney in Illinois and Indiana, where she represented individuals, businesses, and government entities in both federal and state courts.
Professor Anieros says she chose Lewis & Clark for “its commitment to student-centered learning, public service, and experiential education. It mirrors my own own values, and its leadership in environmental and animal law, along with strong clinical and advocacy programs, aligns perfectly with my focus on ethical corporate governance.” She looks forward to inspiring a new generation of lawyers to pursue excellence and justice with purpose in both the public and private spheres.
Anieros notes that she “delights in guiding students through complex legal principles, helping them develop critical thinking skills, effective advocacy, and ethical engagement with the legal system at a formative stage of their professional lives. My early work supervising interns in workplace and clinical settings revealed how profoundly rewarding it is to connect doctrine with practice and witness students’ growth firsthand.”
Drawing on more than fifteen years of experience as a practitioner and as a scholar of business law and ethics, Professor Aneiros’ research focuses on the intersection of law and corporate governance. Her scholarship has been published in leading journals, including Baylor Law Review, Berkeley Business Law Journal, American Law Review, Stetson Law Review, and Texas Journal of Civil Liberties & Civil Rights, among others. Professor Aneiros’ scholarship has attracted substantial media attention, with her insights featured in prominent outlets such as The New York Times, Bloomberg Law, Fortune Magazine, Board Agenda, The Economic Times, The Hill, and NBC News.
Professor Aneiros earned her JD from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law and her BA in Business Administration–Prelaw from Michigan State University.
Professor Aneiros continues to maintain an active legal practice focused on business and commercial law, advising clients in matters such as business negotiations, asset purchase agreements, insurance claims, and contracts. She also serves as a consultant and expert witness in litigation matters. In addition to being licensed in Illinois and Indiana, she is also licensed in the Northern District of Illinois and the state of Washington.
Dean Alicia Ouellette noted, “Professor Aneiros is an excellent addition to our business law faculty and program. She is an extraordinary teacher and important scholar who will enrich our community and inspire our students.”
