Bryan Hinkle Joins Lewis & Clark Law as the New Assistant Dean of Admissions
As the law school prepares for another rise in applications, new Assistant Dean of Admissions, Bryan Hinkle, is excited to add to the collaborative spirit that defines the Lewis & Clark community.

Lewis & Clark Law School welcomed Bryan Hinkle as the new Assistant Dean of Admissions this academic year. A law school graduate himself, Bryan comes to Lewis & Clark from his alma mater, Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management.
Bryan first visited the Lewis & Clark campus over 20 years ago while working for Access Group (now AccessLex), providing financial literacy training to students at the law school. “I was struck by the professionalism and collegiality of the students and staff, and awed by the beauty of the campus,” he remembered of the time. After visiting Portland again, years later with his family, Bryan was sold and jumped at the opportunity to apply for the Assistant Dean of Admissions position. His interest in the job was solidified further when he learned more about the shared governance model at the law school, a process grounded in collaborative decision-making among students, faculty, and administration. Bryan remarked that he had “never encountered an institution that has embraced it the way that Lewis & Clark has.”
Now, experiencing his first semester, Bryan has “witnessed the strength of that community first-hand, and received a warm welcome from the staff, faculty, and students.” Ramping up for another increase in applications this upcoming year, he’s been proud to hit the ground running with his Admissions Team members, Sam Stockdale, Jacob McCormack, Becky Smith, and Aleeyah Lemons, as well as with the help of a number of other offices at the law school. “Everyone at Lewis & Clark understands that admissions work involves every member of the community, including our alumni,” he said, “I look forward to meeting more members of our community, and leveraging my own contacts to bring more visibility to Lewis & Clark.”
