This year, students at the National Crime Victims Litigation Institute (NCVLI) tackled a wide range of cutting-edge legal issues impacting victims’ rights. In spring, upper-division students explored the enforceability of military protection orders in civilian courts, the scope of restitution in Arizona, ethical issues in victim representation, post-conviction victim rights, and how state constitutional rights to confrontation intersect with victims’ rights. The clinic also welcomed law school alumni Melissa Marrero ’12 and Peter Janci ’07 as guest lecturers. At NCVLI’s national conference, students Hannah Beaulieu ’26 and Stephanie Scheno ’25 presented during the closing plenary, and Hannah’s blog post on Safe Harbor Legislation was published nationally.
