GLA student work concerned many pressing international issues, including providing support for environmental justice advocates in the plastics treaty negotiations; working with clients to address wildlife concerns such as shark finning, aquaculture impacts on marine mammals, and exotic pet trade; and supporting multiple clients on issues of climate change and agricultural policy. Each of these opportunities allow students to learn cause lawyering skills and work with clients from around the world. Alongside anti-plastic advocates, the students presented their legal findings during a White House briefing in November. Also this year, past student work was published by the Secretariat for the Convention on Migratory Species and was the basis of a workshop held in Bonn, Germany and attended by CMS focal points from around the world.
