27th Harpole Awards Recipients
Kristen West McCall ’06 and Katie Jahangiri ’26 received 2025 Harpole Awards.

Kristen West McCall ’06 received the 2025 Harpole Attorney Award for her work in elder abuse and neglect. A partner at Joh nson McCall LLP, with a roster of pro bono and community work, she is also known for her professionalism and strong advocacy for the hurt, often taking on challenging cases. Judges describe her as “fierce” and “a delight,” and nominators noted her motto is, “I don’t want this to ever happen to anyone else.” Nominators also admired the way she sets clear lines between work and home life with discipline, routine, and boundaries.
Katie Jahangiri ’26, received the 2025 Harpole Scholarship Award. During her first year, she excelled academically while managing an international sales team; the following year, she went to work as a certified law student at Metropolitan Public Defenders, handling multiple trials. Above all, she considers parenting her 10-year-old son one of her most challenging and rewarding roles. In nominating her, classmates noted Jahangiri’s collaborative nature: “Katie is always the first to extend a hand and invite folks to join our study sessions.”
Joyce Ann Harpole ’79 exemplified professionalism, a delight for life, and the balance between her legal career, family, friends, and community. The Harpole Reception and Awards celebrates her life annually.
