Alaska Supreme Court Justice Jude Pate ’93 was honored with the 2025 Amburgey Award. Established in 2011, the award recognizes Lewis & Clark graduates who have demonstrated their passion and commitment to public interest work. It’s a full-circle moment: The award was announced at the Public Interest Law Project auction in March, which Pate co-founded as a law student and began in 1990. His first job out of law school was as a tribal court clerk in Sitka, and he was eventually appointed to the Sitka superior court. He has been with the Alaska State Supreme Court since 2023.
