Alumni Honored by the Oregon State Bar

The Oregon State Bar (OSB) honored five Lewis & Clark alumni at the 2020 Annual Awards.

Susan Jane Brown ’00 received the OSB’s Environmental and Natural Resources Section’s Annual Award for her leadership, service, and contributions in the areas of environmental and natural resources law.


Law partners Lee Wyatt and John Haub ’76 received the Small Firm OSB Pro Bono Award. The firm focuses on helping veterans. Haub also started the Veterans Legal Clinic at the local nonprofit Fort Kennedy.


Román D. Hernández ’00 received the Edwin J. Peterson Professionalism Award, the state’s highest professionalism award presented to a lawyer or judge. The son of immigrants, Hernández is the managing partner of Troutman Pepper’s Portland office, where he focuses on employment law and commercial litigation.


Olivier Jamin JD ’17, LLM ’18, received the OSB’s Oregon New Lawyers Division Advancing Diversity Award. Jamin is an attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine and recently collaborated with the Criminal Justice Reform Clinic at Lewis & Clark on the Ramos Project.


Rob Shecter ’11 received the President’s Sustainability Award for significant contributions to the goal of sustainability in the legal profession in Oregon. Shecter expanded OregonLaws.org, the website he created as a law student, into Public.Law and has created similar nonprofit websites for California, Nevada, Texas, and New York. His work has made it easier for lawyers and law students to access statutes.
