The end of Spring Semester is around the corner and many students are turning their heads to summer plans. This year, Lewis & Clark Law School will be offering a number of summer classes, including program-specific courses in Animal Law and Environmental Law. Broken up into two five-week periods, Session I of summer classes is slated to begin on May 26, 2026, and Session II will begin June 30, 2026. Courses are open not just to Lewis & Clark students, but to current lawyers, college graduates interested in law, and visiting students.

Lewis & Clark Law School offers the only summer intensive Animal Law Program in the country, offering courses this summer in Animal Law Trial Advocacy and The Law & Ethics of Animal Testing. Additionally, the school’s Environmental Law program is one of the most highly regarded, with classes ranging from Climate Law to Administrative Law. Classes in Evidence, Criminal Law in Indian Country, Food Law, Regulation & Ethics, Trial and Appellate Advocacy, and area-specific externship clinics in Tax and Small Business law round out the course offerings this summer.

Notably, this year, summer course registration has moved from WebAdvisor to Self-Service. This new system will be the central hub for students to register, view course schedules, grades, and exam numbers, access their transcript, and more. Summer class registrations are open now, and students may add or drop courses through May 25, 2026 through the Self-Service System.
