We are also excited to announce that IT will purchase books for the first 7 people who RSVP using this form to participate in this lunch discussion. The Psychology Department will be providing finger foods and beverages to supplement your own brown bag lunch. Please sign up by June 15th in order to give us time to get the book to you with plenty of time to read it.
The purpose of this discussion is to explore what it means to be human in an age of AI. This thought-provoking and hopeful “solarpunk” duology (i.e., comprised of two stories) follows a tea monk named Dex and a robot named Mosscap as they journey together in search of deeper understanding about the relationship between humanity, technology, purpose, and flourishing.
Possible discussion questions include:
- What do humans need from technology?
- What is your ideal relationship with purpose, vocation, and meaning?
- What does a human-centered future with AI look like at Lewis & Clark?
- What responsibilities and principles should guide our use of AI in higher education?
We look forward to an engaging discussion on July 22!
