Natural Resources Law Institute Distinguished International Visitor, German law professor Dr. Christian Calliess, will launch the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program’s vibrant 40th academic year with a view from Europe.   Dr. Calliess will speak on “European Law: Values and Constitutional Principles of the European Union” on Tuesday, September 14, at noon (cosponsored by the International Law Students Association), and “European Environmental Law: The Principle of Sustainability, Climate Protection and Energy Policy in the European Union” on Thursday, September 16, at 6:00 p.m. (reception following).  Dr. Calliess directs the Institute for Public Law at Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany, where he teaches public and European law, and is a prodigious legal scholar.
